“My heart became flat and the pen scattered letters that transcend themselves on the blank sheets and fly with them with a revelation that liberates the minds of the soul.” These were the last words of the poet Dr. Ali Al-Jarash, who departed from us, but his memory remained as a literary scholarly establishment that had a deep resonance in research and poetic platforms.

Al-Jarash, who was born in Homs in 1961, was able to balance his scientific studies, while he is a professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Al-Baath University, with his poetic and literary talent that led him to be a member of the Poetry Society of the Writers Union after the publication of three poetry collections, "The Dangers of the Whisper Ink" and "Rhythms of an Expected Promise." And “dreamlike paths” and the fourth were on the way to printing.

As for poetry, he was known about the late as a supporter of the vertical poem that was full of emotional and flirtatious characters with sensual images and a series language far from filling and ambiguity, which gave it a special luster of his poetic identity that attracted everyone who read it or heard it from him.

El Harrach, who throughout his life frequently attended cultural platforms and participated in various poetry festivals in the governorates, was inspired by his emotional emotions, expressing them in his realistic manner, approaching human feelings in a transparent manner that is not without well-studied humor, which we find in his saying:

By doing evil some people Bahi

Its venom is preceded by snake venom

Souls changed when they experienced it

I seek good without benefit.

As the late man embodied in his poems the meanings of supreme martyrdom. In a poem he dedicated to the souls of the martyrs, he said:

You ascended and the planets turned off

You have come and the planets are in brightness

You became present in every sense

As the name of God in the majesty of reverence.

The friends of Al-Jarash were surprised by the departure of their poet and their sociable poet, who was distinguished by his noble morals.

Dr. Ghassan Lafi Tohme expressed his sadness at the loss of Al-Jarash, describing him as the printed poet who, despite his scientific studies, instilled in his poetry the luster of love.

Poet Omaima Ibrahim saw that with the departure of Al-Jarash, Homs lost a beautiful poet who gave the poetic movement elegance and added another imprint of his other scientific and cultural life.

Al-Jarrash holds a doctorate in civil engineering and is a faculty member at the National Private University and has dozens of scientific researches and held several positions at Al-Baath University and recently received a certificate of appreciation from the Writers Union on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary.
