Thousands of people today (Sunday) held a huge demonstration in the French capital in protest of the acquittal of the terrorist Kabili Traora, who in 2017 murdered his Jewish neighbor Sarah Halimi.

The demonstration was attended by the murdered woman's brother, leaders of the Jewish community in France, French statesmen, rabbis, and Drancy's imam, Hassan Khaloumi, who came to support the murder of the killer.

The demonstrators held a rally in front of the Chan de Mars and delivered speeches.

The demonstrators carried signs that read "Justice for Sarah Halimi" and "Jewish life is important."

The demonstrations in Paris are part of a worldwide wave of protests and more demonstrations are expected in Washington, DC, the United States, Los Angeles, Toronto in Canada, London in the United Kingdom, Rome in Italy, and The Hague in the Netherlands.

Hundreds of people also demonstrated in Israel near the French embassy in Tel Aviv, demanding a change in the law that allowed the release of the terrorist who murdered Halimi.

MK Emily Moati (Labor) met with French Ambassador to Israel Eric Danon immediately after participating in a solidarity demonstration with the family of Sarah Halimi and the Jewish community in France.

At the meeting, the ambassador updated on the initiative of French President Emanuel Macron, to amend the section of the law concerning criminal liability so that the effect of drugs does not constitute a defense against the execution of the law.

"I came to express solidarity with the dear Halimi family and with the entire Jewish community. France has proven many times in the past that it knows how to fight anti-Semitism and condemn hate crimes against Jews. Most French people, especially at the top of the country, see crimes against Jews as crimes against France. "To ensure that the despicable killer does not go free for many, many years," Moati told the ambassador.

Sarah Halimi was a doctor and therapist who lived in Paris and she was murdered in 2016 by a neighbor, Kabili Traora, a heavy drug user, who murdered her with knife stabs while chanting "Allah Akbar".

After the murder, the terrorist said that "I killed the devil."

Troya later claimed that a demon had taken over and caused him to commit the murder.

Last week, the French Supreme Court ruled that Trauera was unfit to stand trial because he committed the murder under the influence of drugs, and released him for further hospitalization in a psychiatric institution. The decision sparked outrage in the country and even French President Emmanuel Macron called for a change in the law that could release the killer.
