The area cultivated by the cotton crop in Al-Hasakah governorate reached 3285 hectares distributed over the various areas of agricultural stability in light of the increasing demand for its cultivation by the governorate's farmers.
The Director of Agriculture, Engineer Rajab Salama, stated in a statement to SANA's correspondent that the crop cultivation operations that began at the beginning of this month will continue until the middle of next month, which contributes to increasing the percentage of the area implemented.
Salameh pointed out that cotton cultivation is concentrated in several areas of the governorate, especially in the northern countryside, the first and second agricultural stabilization areas, and the countryside of Hasaka and Qamishli, which have stable water sources for irrigating crops.
