Ecuador goes through a health emergency due to the 3:48 pandemic
(CNN Spanish) -
Ecuador will audit as of Monday the registry of people vaccinated against covid-19, as reported this Sunday on Twitter by the Secretary General of the Cabinet of the Presidency of Ecuador, Jorge Wated. The announcement came hours after Health Minister Camilo Salinas will announce that he is investigating a video that appears to show a man being vaccinated.
The video, posted on social media, appears to show a healthcare worker inserting a syringe into a patient's arm.
The worker then takes it out without injecting the liquid.
The event took place during a vaccination session against covid-19 in Guayaquil.
The images caused the repudiation of several citizens and the reaction of Salinas, who assured that the health worker and the patient had been identified and that an investigation was initiated, details of which will be given later.
In the video, the health worker tells the man who came to receive the vaccine: "Get home, put ice water compresses (...) on your little arm."
In addition, he suggests taking paracetamol in case of fever or malaise.
The man responds: "Thank you 'mijo'", and leaves.
The video was later released from the Twitter account of @ gabriela_ma94, to which Minister Salinas responded, informing about the initiation of the investigation and the identification of the patient and health worker.

CNN is trying to locate the person who released the video.
The Secretary General of the Cabinet of the Presidency of Ecuador, Jorge Wated, indicated this Sunday on Twitter that the man who attended the vaccination was not within the phase enabled at the time, that is, over 65 years of age, and that the person who “did not vaccinate” was detained.

"So that everyone understands better: the man in red is 55 years old and fraudulently passed the queue to be vaccinated, the doctor first did not vaccinate him as seen in the video, but later he ends up vaccinating him," he explained on the social network Wated .
He added that both were arrested and that the State Attorney General's Office should investigate the case, although they did not detail what they are accused of.
