Three "mighty" F35 planes landed today (Sunday) at the Nevatim base in the south of the country.
The aircraft joined the 116 Southern Lions Squadron and will continue to strengthen the Air Force's operational capability, both defensively and offensively.
As of early April, 625 F-35s worldwide had accumulated 380,000 cumulative flight hours.
The F-35s operate from 27 bases and carry aircraft in nine countries around the world.
Over 1,300 pilots and 10,380 maintenance personnel have been trained so far.
Ten operators have declared the initial operational (IOC) of the aircraft;
Six of them announced activation in combat-operational activity.
The F-35A is priced at $ 77.9 million.
The planes are arriving in Israel amid growing tensions with Iran and its metastases in Syria and Lebanon.
