It has been nearly two years since the anti-amendment social movement in Hong Kong took place. Since then, social tears have expanded and a wave of Hong Kong people's emigration has been set off.

One of the ten richest people in Hong Kong and the chairman of CLP (0002) Michael Kadoorie published in the newspaper in August 2019 that he opposed any violence, but described young people as "the future of Hong Kong" and said that the younger generation should not be allowed to live without To help and despair, we need to rebuild mutual trust in society. Later, he wrote an article in the CLP Performance Report and reiterated that "the future of society is in the hands of young people, and we have a responsibility to create hope for them.

Michael Kadoorie said in an interview with the South China Morning Post that young people have a bright future in Hong Kong and they also have their own worries. For one or other reasons, they receive a lot of information, most of which are wrong.

He felt sorry for the lack of dialogue between the Hong Kong government and young people. "I encourage dialogue between the two sides. Only through dialogue can we find a way to bring each other closer." He called on the Hong Kong government to do more to resolve the worries of young people.

CLP Chairman Michael Kadoorie published a full-page advertisement in the "Sing Tao Daily" and "South China Morning Post" in August 2019, calling for an end to violence and a peaceful settlement of the predicament.

His son, CLP Non-Executive Director Phil Kadoorie pointed out that some deep-seated social issues need to be resolved, including: high property prices, rising cost of living, long working hours, insufficient wages, and lack of entertainment on weekends, etc. The Hong Kong government has not dealt with it. Because of these problems, some Hong Kong people use violent methods to express their demands.

Michael Kadoorie also expressed his support for the National Security Law during the interview, saying that social stability must be maintained so that citizens can live, work and travel in a peaceful and free environment.

He also pointed out that the Hong Kong government's way of ruling is no different from before Hong Kong's return.

Regarding many Hong Kong people planning to emigrate, Filip Kadoorie believes that after the 1967 riots and the 1997 immigration wave, some Hong Kong people who emigrated also returned to live in Hong Kong, so he believes that this time is no exception. After broadening one's horizons and improving Hong Kong's problems, so that people can rebuild their confidence in Hong Kong, those who have left will return.
