Today, the Russian Foreign Ministry informed the United States of changes in the system of movement of US embassy and consulate personnel on the territory of Russia.
This came in a memorandum delivered by Sergey Ryabkov, Deputy Russian Foreign Minister, to the Chargé d'Affairs of the United States Embassy in Russia, Bartl Grumman, during a meeting with him today, which dealt with discussing some pressing issues of relations between the two countries, according to a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
According to the statement, "The American side has been informed that new decisions are expected to be taken in the near future, in development of the statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry on April 16, and that the American embassy will be notified of this at the appropriate time."
On the 16th of this month, Russia announced that it would take measures to respond to the sanctions by the United States, including the expulsion of 10 American diplomats, stressing that these steps represent only part of the capabilities available to it.
