Guesswork in the local council: A plot of land in Hörbach is entered in the development plan with the note “Fire station building area”.

That creates problems.

Althegnenberg - The development plan "Mieswiesen und Point" dates from 1989. Why the note was made at the time could no longer be clearly clarified.

The fact is, however, that the owner of the property is not allowed to build there as desired as long as the earmarking has been established.

That is why the builder Philipp Bentenrieder was on the local council a year ago.

At that time, it was decided not to talk about how to deal with the note until a decision has been made on the subject of the fire station.

Then came the referendum, in which the majority voted in favor of building a common house.

The area originally intended for the fire station in Hörbach's village center was thus off the table.

No fire station can go there

The Althegnenberg town council members agreed that no fireworks should be built there on the Bentenrieder property.

"I don't see that a fire station could get there," said Marianne Dunkel (SPD).

Mayor Rainer Spicker (voter group Citizens' Initiative / BI) also emphasized: "Personally, I think that the property would be far too expensive for a fire station." For such a project, one must use an area that is already owned by the municipality.

Especially since Bentenrieder wanted to cultivate his land himself.

Another problem is the driveway to the property, currently only five meters wide.

The local council would have liked to have widened it to 6.5 meters and acquired the necessary space from Bentenrieder.

This was also suggested by the building authority manager Markus Hörmann from the administrative association (VG) Mammendorf.

"Then we should put the topic aside and start negotiations again," demanded fire department officer Klaus Westner (BI) in the municipal council meeting.

"A compromise should be possible," said Andreas Birzele (Greens) with reference to the emergency route.

In the meeting, however, Bentenrieder emphasized that he was not ready to give up reason.

The panel nevertheless voted unanimously to postpone the application.
