It is a commitment which the presidential majority can rejoice.
Drawn by lot in 2019 to participate in the Citizen's Convention for the Climate (CCC), Grégoire Fraty, author of
Moi, Citoyen
, is committed to the regional elections in his territory of Normandy.
Despite the many criticisms addressed to the government by members of the CCC on the lack of ambition of the Climate and Resilience bill, the young thirty-something decided to compete on the list of Laurent Bonnaterre, candidate supported by La République en Marche.

Grégoire Fraty has been one of the most publicized figures of the CCC since its inception. Above all, he has always advocated a nuanced word, refusing to see "
the glass half empty
", and saluting "
the courage of Emmanuel Macron
" to have carried this citizen participation project. It is therefore no great surprise that the thirty-something formalized his candidacy alongside the majority. "
I found myself in something pragmatic and reasoned
", he explains to
Figaro
, affirming to have been also approached by Europe Écologie-Les Verts. "
For the neo-green that I am, it went a little too far on many things, I prefer more progressive visions
", he says.

After a first experience of “
towing
” on the markets of Caen this weekend, Grégoire Fraty is counting on this campaign to talk about “
ecology and participatory democracy
”, while keeping “
his freedom of tone
”.
Le Normand did not join LREM, at least “
for the moment
”, and is delighted to see members of the Convention engage in different political horizons.
He knows, however, that his commitment will give rise to criticism within the CCC, where many citizens have been opponents of the executive.
To his detractors, the now regional candidate already knows what he will answer. "
I will be criticized because I will be asked why I continue to defend those who take back only part of our climate law
", he anticipates. And to add: “
For me, they are also those who made this Climate Law, who put us where we are today and who had the courage to move forward on certain points.
"A faithful response to"
at the same time
"that Grégoire Fraty says he particularly appreciated during the 2017 campaign.
