The plans for a full-range supplier on Schornstrasse in Inning are becoming more concrete.

A concept has been commissioned, the operator of the new supermarket could be Edeka.

Inning - Better local supply in Inning is at the top of the list of priorities for Mayor Walter Bleimaier - and with the approximately 0.8 hectare property on Schornstrasse at the southern entrance to the municipality, the implementation is moving.

In its most recent meeting, the council unanimously commissioned Christian Hörmann from the consulting firm CIMA with a concept for shopping opportunities on the parish property.

At the moment, the athletes from the Inning tennis club are still smashing the yellow ball over the net on the Schornstrasse site.

Beach volleyball players are also accommodated there.

Before the excavators roll in, however, both of them have a new home, promises Mayor Walter Bleimaier in an interview with Starnberger Merkur.

Local supply in Inning has been a big issue for several years

The community has been concerned with the issue of local supply at the latest since the report including a citizen survey from 2016 by management consultant Wolfgang Gröll.

The result: Purchasing power is flowing into the neighboring community, and people want a full-range retailer in Inning with a size of 1200 square meters, remembers Bleimaier.

That is about twice as much space as is available to the current provider.

A drugstore was also on the inninger's wish list.

From then on the only question was what to do with it.

For a short time, the focus was on the area alongside the Hübsch nursery.

But before plans for a new supermarket could be forged at this point, the site failed due to flood protection reasons, said Bleimaier.

Other locations are ruled out - now it is concrete on Schornstrasse

Bleimaier thought that the southern property of the current full-range supplier was a good idea.

“We could have accessed the area directly from the roundabout,” he says.

However, the municipality never negotiated with the owner because the chances of success were slim.

Then the choice fell on the parish grounds, where the tennis players and beach volleyball players are currently based.

The land negotiations for a new area for innings sports facilities are almost complete.

It is still open whether the tennis players will get five places again.

“We decide that with the tennis club,” affirmed Bleimaier, who is himself a member.

Inning tennis club needs a lot of space in a new area

The chairman of the tennis club, Christian Bonk, speaks of at least five places.

“We have a very successful youth work”, he justifies when asked.

54 children are currently being trained.

And the number of members is also tending to increase with currently 270.

“We are currently working on a concept for an inflatable hall,” reveals the chairman.

This would bring the club out of hibernation with two covered places in snow and ice, and it would become even more attractive.

Bleimeier emphasizes that Hörmann is creating a concept for the local supplier as soon as possible.

This includes the use of the upper floor on the future shopping building, for example as living space or as an office.

Edeka shows interest in the new large supermarket in Inning

"Edeka is interested in moving to the larger site," says the mayor and emphasizes that the store "has looked after us well for the past 20 years".

Should the full-range supplier change location, the question of re-use would arise - and that is in the hands of the lessee, says Bleimaier.

Because the ground doesn't belong to the church.
