The repeated epidemics have hit Hong Kong's economy severely. Last year, public parking lots were frozen for one year.
The Transport Department announced today (26th) that the charges of 11 government public car parks will be frozen at the current level again for a period of one year starting from June 1 this year.
A spokesman for the Transport Department said that a number of factors were considered when reviewing the fees, including the charging level of nearby private public car parks, public acceptance, and government car park utilization rates.
Taking into account the impact of the epidemic on the economy and the related impact on the utilization rate of the parking lot, the department decided to maintain the current level of charges.
