The Speaker of the People's Assembly, Hammouda Al-Sabbagh, announced that the parliament was informed today by the Supreme Constitutional Court that Muhammad Bashar Fayez Yassin Al-Sabbagh and Muhammad Haydar Al-Shujaa submitted my applications for the post of President of the Republic, bringing the number of applications to run for the post of President of the Republic to 23.
The Speaker of the People's Assembly announced the opening of candidacy for the presidential elections, in implementation of the provisions of the constitution, starting from last Monday, and applications for candidacy will continue to be submitted to the Supreme Constitutional Court until the end of the official working hours from Wednesday April 28, 2021.
