In an almost general indifference, a bill relating to “the heritage protection of regional languages and their promotion” was definitively adopted by the National Assembly on April 8, 2021. Alongside provisions usefully contributing to the enhancement of linguistic heritage and regional culture of the nation (such as bilingual signage), this text includes questionable provisions, both in terms of expediency and constitutionality.
The government, through the voice of the Minister of National Education, has also opposed the most criticized of them.

How to put on the same footing, as Article 1 does (by modifying Article L. 1 of the Heritage Code), the French language, the language of the Republic by virtue of Article 2 of the Constitution, and the regional languages, which, of course,
"belong to the heritage of France"
by virtue of its article 75-1, but obviously do not have the same status?
