In the midst of the advance of the second wave of the pandemic, Berisso Rugby Club announced on Monday the death of
Joel Rutigliano
, a member of its squad, due to the coronavirus.
The club, in which he had played for 8 years and was captain, paid him a
heartfelt tribute
on the official Facebook account.
"With a lot of pain in the Berisso Rugby Club family, we want to inform you that unfortunately our
friend and excellent colleague
Joel Rutigliano
has passed away
, because of Covid-19", they published
And they added: "We will remember him with great affection and we know that he will accompany us with strength and drive as he did from minute zero that he arrived at the club."

Rutigliano was
35 years old
, worked as a hooker in the team and had been hospitalized since last week at the Rossi Hospital in La Plata.
Due to complications in her condition, she was on respiratory assistance.
"We accompany the Rutigliano family in this difficult and painful time, our condolences," the statement closed.
The URBA also issued a statement regarding the player's death.
