A 42-year-old man was indicted on Friday in Pontoise (Val-d'Oise) for intentional homicide before being imprisoned.

He is suspected of having slaughtered, on March 30 in Arnouville, a young woman of Sri Lankan origin, aged about 25 years.

The victim was found with his throat slit on March 31 around 1 p.m. in a wasteland by a walker.

The body was at the foot of a tree, between a field and beehives, at the Ferme des Condos, rue du Chemin-des-Dames.

This young woman was wearing a black dress and the presence of a medical device suggested that she had recently undergone surgery.

She lived in an apartment provided by a Catholic association

Investigators from the criminal brigade of the Versailles judicial police identified the victim, thanks to his fingerprints.

"We discovered that she was housed in Sarcelles in a building belonging to a Catholic association," said a source close to the case.

The police carried out an important technical work before tracing the thread of his relations.

But investigators finally manage to find his address in the Sri Lankan district of La Chapelle, in Paris. The suspect was arrested on Wednesday at his home on rue Boucry in the 18th arrondissement.

During the search, the police discovered numerous traces of blood on clothes, found at his home. Dharshana was taken into custody for forty-eight hours, in the premises of the criminal brigade of the judicial police of Versailles. The alleged killer began by denying the facts for a day and a half before making a full confession.
