After Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor went to the Boao Forum in Hainan last week, she was transferred to Guangzhou to attend a special meeting of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Construction Leading Group. Vice Premier Han Zhengnan, who is in charge of Hong Kong and Macao affairs, chaired the meeting.
Carrie Lam said today (27) that when Han Zheng met with her, she expressed concern about the Hong Kong epidemic and Hong Kong's economic recovery. The exchanges between the two places are of utmost importance and requested Hong Kong to prevent and fight the epidemic. The two did not discuss other issues.
Before attending the executive meeting, Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor stated that the meeting focused on discussing the development of the Greater Bay Area. Han Zheng expressed his affirmation of the results of the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Planning Outline" announced over the past two years and encouraged continued innovation in the development of the Greater Bay Area. I believe there will be some central policy announcements later on the next stage of development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area."
