The Director of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, described the situation in India as "more than painful", after the outbreak of the Corona epidemic in which the Corona epidemic reached unprecedented dangerous levels.
"AFP" quoted Ghebreyesus as saying during a press conference today that "the World Health Organization is doing everything it can by providing necessary supplies and equipment related to oxygen bottles, mobile field hospitals and laboratory equipment."
Ghebreyesus indicated that WHO has deployed more than 2,600 health workers to provide field assistance and support monitoring activities, technical recommendations and vaccination efforts.
The organization also announced in an e-mail that it will conduct a rapid analysis of the situation in areas experiencing an increase in cases, make recommendations and support the implementation of these measures.
And the Indian Ministry of Health announced earlier today that a world record was set in India in terms of the number of injuries for the fifth consecutive day, while deaths from the disease also jumped to the highest level ever in the past 24 hours.
India recorded 352,991 new injuries, bringing the total number of injuries in the country to 17 million, and deaths increased at a record rate, recording 2,812 new cases, bringing the total to 195,123.
