The President of the Turkish regime, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, announced today the imposition of a nationwide lockdown starting from next Thursday until the 17th of May, after the worsening of the Corona crisis in Turkey and the summoning of retired doctors to fill the deficit in the health sector with fears of its collapse.
Erdogan's announcement comes at a time when many Turkish political circles confirm that the way his regime deals with the health crisis in the country and his disregard for its repercussions has led to an exacerbation of the situation and the spread of the epidemic on a large scale in Turkey.
Reuters quoted Erdogan as saying in a speech after a cabinet meeting that "all inter-city trips will need approval from the authorities and that studying in schools will be limited to online education and strict restrictions on public transport users."
According to the latest toll announced by the Turkish Ministry of Health, the total number of HIV infections reached 4 million 404 thousand and 882, while the number of deaths reached 127,428 cases.
