Occupied Jerusalem - SANA

The permanent representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, condemned the escalating attacks the occupied city of Jerusalem has been subjected to at the hands of the Israeli occupation and its settlers since the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan.

In letters addressed today to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council and the President of the United Nations General Assembly, reported by Wafa Agency, Mansour explained that the occupation forces and Israeli settlers have intensified their systematic racist attacks against the Palestinians to perpetuate their occupation of the Occupied Palestinian Territory, especially in occupied Jerusalem.

Mansour emphasized that the silence of the international community on the crimes of the occupation encouraged him to continue its attacks and violations against the Palestinian people, their land and sanctities, and damaged the foundations of international law and the credibility of the Security Council, the General Assembly and the United Nations as a whole.

Mansour pointed out that the occupation continues the policy of forced displacement against Palestinians through the demolition of their homes and annexation of Palestinian lands in the West Bank, in addition to torture and ill-treatment of Palestinian prisoners in its detention centers, who number more than 4,400, including 37 women and 140 children.
