"People are going to keep trying (to cross into the US) to the extent that their income opportunities, their opportunities to live decent and sustainable lives, are not solved" says Nicole Kast, member of the organization Catholic Relief Services in Guatemala.
Kast adds that it is not the message from Washington that should be the priority, but to support families at the origin to improve their quality of life.
