Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that the relevant security services have all the evidence and confessions of the participants in the plot against the Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
Russia Today quoted Peskov as saying today that “Russian intelligence agents carried out the arrest of the conspirators in cooperation with their colleagues from Belarus,” indicating that the criminal plan aimed at overthrowing the legitimate authority in Belarus had been confronted and prevented.
Peskov added, "The competent security services have proven more than once that they have all the necessary evidence of incrimination. In addition, they also have confessions of some of the participants in this conspiracy."
The Belarusian Foreign Ministry revealed yesterday that Michael Carpenter, advisor to US President Joe Biden, was involved in preparing the failed plot to carry out a coup in Belarus and assassinate its president, Lukashenko.
