The British City of Dundee Council recognized the state of Palestine in a historic vote by a majority of the municipal council members.
Russia Today reported that 21 members voted in favor of the decision to recognize the state of Palestine, while 3 of them abstained, as the resolution calls on the British government to immediately recognize the state of Palestine.
It is noteworthy that the city of Dundee was one of the first to establish relations with Palestine through the "twinning" agreement with Nablus, which was launched in 1980, and through which many development projects and reciprocal visits were implemented, which contributed to increasing the knowledge of the British community in Scotland about the issue of Palestine and the city of Nablus.
Palestinian cities and towns have been witnessing since days, protest demonstrations in opposition to the Judaization measures taken in the occupied Palestinian territories and in solidarity with the city of Jerusalem, which is under escalating attacks by the occupation forces.
