"He was giving medical signs that he should be treated in another way", that is one of the most relevant conclusions reached by the Medical Board that investigated how Diego Maradona died, on November 25.

Although the final report will only be known on May 3,

Clarín

learned that the forensics are targeting the neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque, the psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov and the head of nurses, Mariano Perroni.

They believe that they are the main responsible for not having given medical identity to key signs of pre-existing diseases suffered by the Ten, such as heart disease and cirrhosis.

They will also seek to advance the responsibility of Maximiliano Pomargo, Matías Morla's brother-in-law, who was one of those in charge of taking care of the former footballer.

Pomargo had declared days after the death of the soccer star -on November 25-, but with the results of the Medical Board it is possible that he will be called to an investigation.

The results of the report may lead to new court summons, although a request for arrests in the short term is ruled out.

The interdisciplinary Medical Board was held in La Plata, although most of the hearings (Tuesdays and Thursdays) were made through Zoom, and put 10 official experts and another 10 on behalf of them to work.

Some lawyers for those involved have already mentioned that there are elements to aggravate the accusations and recall the case as a "homicide with eventual intent" -with a penalty of 8 to 25 years in prison-, or an "abandonment of persons followed by death" -which foresees 5 to 15 years in prison.

News in development.
