Yehuda Meshi Zahav, who tried to end his life last Thursday at his home in Givat Zeev, is still hospitalized in the intensive care unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center while he is being resuscitated and anesthetized.

A close friend of Golden Silk told Israel Today, referring to his medical condition, that "his body systems are working properly, but the big missing thing is the brain damage that may have been done to him."

He added that "the son of Meshi Zahav, a paramedic at MDA, was on duty at the time of the incident and was the one who insisted and fought for his father's life."

His friend sharply criticized the broadcast of the "Fact" program on the day that Golden Silk tried to end his life: "After it became clear that Judah's life is moving between heaven and earth, "Fact" was a shot in the head of his family and descendants.

They are certainly not to blame, and the suffering they go through from worry, shame and everything that happens around them is unbearable.

Even waiting with the broadcast for a reasonable period of time, by prior notice, would also have prevented the harm to the interviewees. '

Last Thursday, former ZAKA chairman Yehuda Meshi Zahav (61) tried to end his life at his home in Givat Zeev.

This is after the many allegations of sexual assault of men, women and children for decades, which were published after he was chosen to receive the Israel Prize.

Meshi Zahav founded ZAKA (Organization for the Identification of Disaster Victims) in the 1990s. He and the organization's members worked in disaster scenes during the Intifada. On Mount Herzl. This year he was to receive the Israel Prize for Lifetime Achievement, in a complex period for him after the deaths of his brother and two parents. After the investigation, he decided to relinquish the award and the hour itself from his post.

The Haaretz investigation, published last March, presented the testimonies of six of its alleged victims of gold silk, but it was alleged that in practice he carried out a much larger number of sexual assaults.

It was further alleged that Golden Silk took advantage of the willingness of many ultra-Orthodox youths to volunteer for the ZAK in order to sexually exploit them.

Among other things, the investigation states that Golden Silk used to "pay" to his victims through money and gifts he gave them - and also through sexual encounters with escort girls to which he would attach them. To some of these encounters, Golden Silk attached one of his relatives, according to one of the testimonies published in Haaretz. Following the investigation, a public echo was created, after which additional evidence was published in the media.
