"That is on purpose - someone wants to kill animals": After the poison discovery in Nandlstadt, the authorities assume willful intent.

Because the circumstances are very noticeable.

Nandlstadt

- The spring-like temperatures attracted many Nandlstadt residents in the past few days.

But some strollers made an ugly discovery on Sunday evening around 6 p.m.: Pink-colored grains had been laid out along the sidewalks.

A walker immediately alerted Mayor Gerhard Betz and, in consultation with him, the police.

As Moosburg's police chief Christian Bidinger reported, “according to an initial assessment, the substance could actually be rat poison” - corresponding investigations are still ongoing.

"Someone wants to kill animals"

On Sunday evening, Betz made himself an on-site picture: In Baumgartener and Moosburger Strasse as well as along Ringstrasse, Zeilerbergstrasse and Ahornstrasse “there were these pink parts that look like blossoms from a distance”.

The grains would also have been in front of the playground on the Ringstrasse.

Betz is convinced: "That is on purpose - someone wants to kill animals." Because many people go for walks in the housing estate, Gerhard Betz suspects someone who is after dogs.

The Nandlstadt fire brigade was on duty with 18 comrades for around 1.5 hours on Sunday evening to clean the streets.

But on Monday morning the pink grains were again on the roadside - above all on Zeilerbergstraße, at the junction of Bürgermeister-Faltermaier-Straße.

Here the building yard employees came to dispose of the poison.

Zeilerbergstrasse has already been a poison crime scene once before

Three years ago there were already cases of poisoned animals - at that time the stranger was targeting cats.

The scene of the crime was also Zeilerbergstrasse here.

At that time it was a question of poisoning by phosphoric acid ester, a common pesticide.

At first, the veterinarian who was treating the patient at the time assumed "excessive garden hygiene".

When three more mysterious cases of poisoned cats emerged a little later, the suspicion that one was dealing with specially prepared food traps was reinforced.

The veterinarian filed a complaint against unknown persons at the time.

Betz can still remember this story well.

Since then, however, no comparable cases have been noticed.

So now the large-scale poison distribution on the street and sidewalks.

On its homepage, the community makes an appeal to the citizens: “We would like to urgently ask for caution and attention, as poison (presumably rat poison) was found in some places in the market area today.

This has already been removed - where known - by the volunteer fire brigade.

Nevertheless, we ask all to be careful. "
