Combs-la-Ville: three police officers injured by two men fined for violating the curfew

2021-04-29T19:53:14.759Z

A banal "Covid" control degenerated in the night from Monday to Tuesday in Combs-la-Ville. Unhappy to be fined, two brothers walked away

The time for the start of the curfew was past three hours and ten minutes when a national police crew checked the two occupants of a car traveling on avenue de Quincy, in Combs-la-Ville, on Monday evening.

Protesting against the tickets at 135 euros announced to them by the police officers, the driver and the passenger, two twin brothers aged 24, began to insult the crew copiously.

The driver switched on the ignition and tried to get back on the road, but a police officer stopped him.

The passenger then got out and started beating the officials.

His brother imitated him.

Punches, kicks, butts, the assault is violent.

Meanwhile, a woman on board called for reinforcements, meaning her brothers living nearby.

They arrived on the spot but obviously did not take part in the fight.

Policewoman Suffers From Broken Malleolus

In the meantime, three national police crews came to the rescue of their colleagues injured by the two occupants of the car. One of them suffering from a fracture was recognized 45 days of total incapacity for work, another 10 days and the last 7 days. They were taken to the nearest hospital emergency rooms. Meanwhile, the duo, already known for acts of violence, were taken out of harm's way and taken into police custody.

"I was able to speak to them on Tuesday, they returned home," indicates Philippe Justo, the departmental director of public security.

They are injured, shocked, but determined to continue their work, despite this difficult intervention.

It's amazing.

The victim the most affected is a policewoman, who suffers from a fractured malleolus, the two others from various bruises and a knee for one of them.

The boss of the police of Seine-et-Marne, who underlines "his absolute confidence" in the current investigation, recalls that it is a "serious criminal offense which has been committed".

He also confirms that on average, "seven or eight police officers in intervention are injured each week in Seine-et-Marne".

The Alliance 77 union also reacted strongly on Tuesday morning to the announcement of the results of this violence directed against police officers on night duty. "Once again, our night-time colleagues who work in difficult conditions are the subject of insults, gratuitous violence where the police must enforce the curfew and health measures," said the union. on his Facebook page.
