Men with a mane - a new trend?

- Not only shop owners and their employees suffered from the months-long, often existence-threatening closure of hairdressers during the corona pandemic.

A number of customers also quarreled with the long-needed new cut of their hairstyle.

The uncontrolled growth was particularly noticeable in men with usually correct short hairstyles.

Corona: After hairdressers were closed for months - some men keep their mane

However, there are also men who like to let their hair grow out and would like to wear it long in the future - such as Matthias Sipple from Ottenhofen and André Löschner from Finsing.

Sipple started growing his dark blonde, somewhat curly hair two years ago.

Even as a young adult he had a longer mane.

“That was my heavy metal phase and it looked rather desolate,” recalls the now 35-year-old with a laugh.

In 2019, the man from Ottenhofen decided to change his hairstyle again and wanted to try it again.

Many of Sipple's friends from climbing sport also wear their hair longer.

"It's almost normal there."

The lengthy process of changing the hairstyle was not easy for Sipple, who works as a physiotherapist in Buch am Buchrain.

Several times the 35-year-old was on the verge of significantly shortening his hair again.

During Corona, however, he had overcome the "critical point".

The Ottenhofen man means the length when the hair was barely enough for a pigtail and when it was open it was rather annoying.

Now Sipple's mane extends a little over the shoulders.

When working as a physiotherapist, the 35-year-old always wears his hair completely tied up in a bun.

“Wearing it open would be too impractical.

Otherwise you keep wiping your hair off your face, ”he explains.

Men with a mane - the new corona trend?

André Löschner has been sprouting his hair since 2018.

The occasion at the time was a bet with a friend.

The common goal: a hair length to the shoulders.

The experiment succeeded, but the Finsinger wanted to "go through with it even further".

Today Löschner's hairstyle extends to his chest and is about 50 centimeters long.

In his manual work as a landscape gardener, the 27-year-old always tames his blond hair in a braid.

"It's annoying otherwise.

It's already a very good mane, ”explains Löschner.

In his free time, however, he sometimes wears his hair open or only fixes a few strands at the back of the head.

Actually, Sipple also likes to vary his hairstyle and also likes to wear his hair open.

At the moment, however, they are almost a little too long for him.

The hairstyle will soon be shortened by a few centimeters to shoulder length.

In 2020, the 35-year-old was only at the hairdresser's once.

Marvel fan now wears corona mane - and even does a superhero shoot

Löschner usually has hairdressing appointments twice a year, the last time in September. With him, too, Corona is responsible for the current hair length with the lockdown restrictions. “Otherwise I would have gone to the hairdresser sooner, but I actually think it's pretty good. Now you know what it looks like, ”says the finsinger of the current hairstyle. With his long mane, the Marvel film fan even posed in a private photo shoot as the god of thunder Thor. At the beginning of the hairstyle change, Löschner often had to listen to funny sayings from his friends. But everyone has got used to it by now. The 27-year-old reports that women react differently and depending on their type.

Sipple can confirm that.

His girlfriend would have liked the earlier, shorter hair better.

The 35-year-old's climbing friends, on the other hand, are very popular with the current hairstyle.

Both men do not want to go back to the short hairstyle for the foreseeable future.

“I've always liked longer hair, and it suits me,” says Sipple.

Löschner originally planned to let the blond mane grow under the breast.

“But I think it's too long for me,” explains Finsinger.

Soon he wants to have five centimeters cut off.

The hair should always stay so long "that I can still make a ponytail," emphasizes Löschner.
