The Rudelzhausen folk festival cannot take place this year due to Corona.

As an alternative, the TSV is again offering a "Chicken Drive-In" - and a new campaign.

Rudelzhausen

- The folk festival of TSV Rudelzhausen looks back on almost 50 years of tradition. The first took place in 1976 under the then board member Karl Schapfl in connection with the 25-year founding party of TSV Rudelzhausen. The organizers did not want to stand idly by the fact that the folk festival was to be canceled completely due to Corona last year. The idea of a "chicken drive-in" was born and immediately implemented. “With an overwhelming response”, as the club's chairman Wieland Scheer recalls. “The people were so keen on it, we just prepared and sold in one piece,” says the co-initiator of the curious campaign from last year.

And because the 2020 Volksfest-Ersatz 2020 went so well, those responsible want to go one better this year: On Sunday, May 16, there will be a special “Roast pork to go” for visitors from near and far.

In the neatly prepared packs, which are then ready in the gastro tent on the Volksfestplatz, there is a portion of roast pork with potato salad, coleslaw and two pints of beer for a total of twelve euros.

On the other hand, on Ascension Day, May 13th, there is a “Giggerl-Packerl” with half a chicken, a large pretzel and also two pints of beer.

The whole thing costs ten euros.

The culinary packs are handed out in two car lanes: TSV Rudelzhausen is planning another sale on the Volksfestwiese.

The sale on both days takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The action, in which two dozen TSV members are involved, has been discussed with the authorities, i.e. with the police and the district office.

As in the previous year, there is a specially developed and approved hygiene concept for the "chicken drive-in".

Consumption on site is not allowed

“Everything is only available if you order in advance,” explains Scheer. The drive-in customers would all have to stay in their cars. A generous circuit with a corresponding waiting area will be laid out on the Volksfestwiese. Consumption on the Volksfestplatz is not permitted. All those involved in the TSV would wear a mask, and appropriate hygiene and distance rules would be observed. In addition, a corona test should be carried out on all helpers on each of the two days. The cars can then drive past the delivery tent in two lanes one after the other, where customers receive their packages. According to Wieland Scheer, there have been no complaints or incidents with this concept in the past year.

Instead, the drive-in guests and the service team would have had great fun with the alternative fun fair. It is also clear to Scheer that it is no substitute for the original. The hope of being able to eat, drink and celebrate under normal conditions again next year is correspondingly high. First of all, however, the first thing to do is to promote the "Chicken Drive-In" and "Roast pork to go". A corresponding flyer is also planned for this. It will then be published online right away - at www.tsv-rudelzhausen.de.
