The regional campaign is well and truly launched.
Last step before the presidential election, this election is a major issue for the political forces and in particular the right, which today governs eight out of seventeen regions in France.
In the campaign behind Valérie Pécresse, outgoing president of the Île-de-France region, Frédéric Péchenard, its vice-president, was yesterday the guest of “Talk Le Figaro”.

Naturally wishing that the right would conserve and “possibly” gain other regions, he recalls that LR
“won a lot of cities”
in the last municipal elections and hopes to stay on this dynamic. Safety will be at the heart of the regional campaign, especially in Île-de-France. Precisely in charge of these issues, the former boss of the national police is rather proud of the record he brings alongside the president (Free!).
"We have done a lot in terms of security
," he says, "
from the start of his mandate, Valérie Pécresse made it one of the main themes."
Among other measures, the majority in place voted for the
"security shield"
, a device aimed at helping mayors to equip themselves with municipal police and video protection.
"We have also put a lot of resources into transport."

An odious forum

Campaign requires, the oppositions do not however deprive themselves to defeat the record of the outgoing president.
"Not only have we done a lot, but we have no lessons to learn from either the far right, the left, or LREM, on security issues,"
criticizes the former boss of the national police. For his part, Jordan Bardella, for the RN, criticizes the majority for not having done enough.
"Mr. Bardella is badly placed and had the very soft vote"
, tackle Péchenard, ensuring that in five years, the latter has not voted for any of the measures. And the Republican to drive the point home:
"The RN lives with the problems that people have, but in no way seeks solutions."
On the left, Audrey Pulvar, judges that there is no
“feeling of insecurity”
in Île-de-France, but a
“real insecurity”
.
The opportunity for Péchenard to denounce
"an odious platform"
signed by the socialist
"against the police, explaining that racism and violence plague the French national police"
.
As for the LREM candidate,
"it's funny to see that Laurent Saint-Martin wants to create a regional police force, which we are trying to create, while the government is preventing us from doing so"
.
The Republican confirms that the outgoing president will make an opening list from the center and the right, but refutes any merger between the two rounds with
"no other list than that of Valérie Pécresse"
