The professors of Al-Baath University in Homs affirmed their determination to participate in the presidential elections on the basis that they are a right, a patriotic duty and a victory for the will of the people, considering that holding the presidential elections as scheduled on the twenty-sixth of next May is a confirmation of sovereignty and the unified Syrian decision.
Dr. Youssef Nofal explained in a statement to SANA's correspondent that holding the elections on time is a national entitlement par excellence, a sincere expression of belonging to the homeland, a dedication to the legitimacy of democratic institutions, and a strong reaction to all hostile forces that Syria is the decision-maker in choosing its sovereignty.
Dr. Bassem Wannous stated that the presidential elections come according to their specific constitutional and legal procedures and reflect the will, determination and desire of the Syrian people to slap the colonial plot and its terrorist war on Syria, with an emphasis on the legitimacy of the Syrian state and its right to exercise all its entitlements, noting that participating in these elections is a fulfillment of the martyrs and the wounded. Army.
Dr. Faryal Aqel pointed to the importance of the presidential elections and the massive participation in them, considering that holding them on time is a continuation of the future of Syria and its people, so that we can enjoy security and safety, adding: “We will outlive everything that terrorism has destroyed, as science and work build peoples and their civilizations.”
Dr. Fayez Yazbek emphasized that the participation of professors and students of Al-Baath University in these elections is a right and duty guaranteed by the constitution to every citizen, pointing out that the pressures exerted on us as a people and a state will not weaken our resolve to be on the twenty-sixth of May in front of the polls to choose the candidate who meets our aspirations.
Dr. Muhammad al-Dali pointed out that the next stage is one of the most important stages, and we must all present a pledge of loyalty to the blood of our martyrs and our wounded, considering that holding the presidential elections on time is a sign of Syrian health and wellness, and that we, as Syrians, have to prove that the decision is our decision and that the final say is for us.
The twenty-sixth of next May is one of the important days for Syria, according to Dr. Mahmoud Hadid, because he will refute all foreign interference and we will prove how strong and loyal to the blood that shed on our beloved land, affirming that he will participate with professors, students and employees of Al-Baath University in choosing the candidate who represents their aspirations.
The People's Assembly set the date for holding the presidential elections for Syrians abroad on May 20, and for Syrian citizens at home on the 26th of the same month.
