Lattakia Governorate opened the charitable market “Ramadan brings us together” in Al-Batrani Park in the city with the participation of industrial and commercial activities and civil and charitable societies that provide their products to citizens at competitive prices that reach the cost limits.
The products were distributed in about 35 pavilions in the market, which witnessed with its inauguration a wide turnout by the people in the city between handicrafts and crafts for some associations with foodstuffs, basic and consumer goods at prices lower than their counterparts in the market by up to 30 percent.
The governor of Lattakia, Ibrahim Khader Al-Salem, confirmed in a statement to reporters after the opening that the market reflects the desire of all the activities of economic institutions, charitable societies and civil society to participate in charitable activities and provide support in providing these products at reduced prices ranging from 15 to 30 percent compared to the market.
The Director of Social Affairs and Labor in Lattakia Ammar Ahmed pointed out that the Directorate worked in coordination with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Charitable Associations and the Endowment Directorate to establish this market as a kind of positive intervention during the blessed month of Ramadan and to provide products at reduced prices.
Ahmed indicated that the market, which includes 35 pavilions, where the associations displayed their products, including the products of rural women, as well as some food and basic industries companies, at lower prices than the cost, as one of the aspects of support for the family.
For his part, the Director of Endowments in Lattakia, Dr. Muhammad Aliu, indicated that the market reflects the idea of working among all groups of society together to reduce the burdens and costs on citizens, indicating that religious scholars urge an increase in the effective participation of all activities in a way that leads to the required social solidarity during this period.
The opening of the market was attended by the Secretary of the Lattakia Branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Engineer Haitham Ismail, and the Chairman of the Provincial Council, Engineer Tayseer Habib, as well as social and civil activities and directors of a number of public agencies.
