Nuremberg - A spectacular accident happened in the Erlenstegen district of Nuremberg this afternoon, April 27th.

An elderly man lost control of his car, got into the oncoming lane several times and overturned his car.

According to the police *, four people were injured in the accident.

At around 12 noon, the 73-year-old man was on the road with his Hyundai on Erlenstegenstrasse from Behringersdorf in the direction of Nuremberg *, the officials write in their press release. At the level of the entrance sign, the man lost control of his vehicle for reasons that have not yet been clarified, ran into oncoming traffic and drove onto the opposite sidewalk.

But that's not all.

There he touched a 65-year-old cyclist and hit a house wall.

The driver was thrown back onto the original lane and crashed into another car.

A 41-year-old man sat in the rammed Seat Alhambra.

As a result of the impact, the person who had caused the accident got back on the opposite lane.

There he hit a wall, his car stood upright and came to rest on the roof of a moving Ford Fiesta, a 79-year-old was at the wheel.

All four people were driven to nearby hospitals for medical care after the accident, apparently with minor injuries, reports the police.

The damage to property is estimated at tens of thousands of euros.

Police are looking for witnesses - road in Nuremberg closed

The Nuremberg traffic police are now conducting further investigations to clarify the cause of the accident.

Witnesses to accidents should contact the Nuremberg Traffic Police on the telephone number (0911) 65 83 15 30.

The Erlenstegenstraße was closed until the end of the accident recording and the rescue work until around 2:30 p.m.

Last weekend there were several car thefts in different parts of Nuremberg.

Three cars worth 60,000 euros were stolen.
