The head of the National Security Council, Meir Ben-Shabbat, is expected to meet today (Tuesday) with his colleague, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.
"Israel Today" has learned that the visit will last only a few hours.
Ben Shabbat and Sullivan have held several digital meetings in recent months, centered on the Iran issue.
Apart from Ben Shabbat, Mossad chief Yossi Cohen is also on a working visit to the United States. He is expected to meet with the head of the CIA and other senior figures in the intelligence community. If possible.
As you may recall, on Thursday, Netanyahu convened a multi-participant discussion, in which the Israeli strategy was formulated in light of the rapid progress in contacts between the parties.
A political source said after the hearing that the directive to senior members of the defense establishment who are flying to Washington is to express opposition to the agreement with Iran because it is a return to the previous dangerous agreement for Israel and the region.
