That is why she invited culture to the first round table.

The conclusion is positive.

People want to meet regularly and organize open-air events in the summer - if Corona allows it.

Fürstenfeldbruck -

17 clubs have registered for the first virtual culture round table. The spectrum ranged from choirs to subculture, cultural associations and a freelance artist to representatives of museums and event forums. In addition, there were the two cultural consultants Tina Jäger (SPD) and Birgitta Klemenz (CSU) as well as Andreas Habersetzer from the city administration. Your expectations have been exceeded, says Jäger. "I'm glad how diverse the number of participants was, a cross-section of the cultural landscape."

First of all, a get-to-know session was on the program - and a report on how the clubs are doing in the corona pandemic.

One orchestra representative reported looking for rehearsal rooms, another offered some.

"That the clubs network with each other is exactly what I was hoping for," says Jäger.

All go on the gums

Klemenz confirms that cultural workers are happy to short-circuit.

"This is particularly important at the present time, as everyone is walking on their gums." This is borne out by the reports on hygiene concepts that were painstakingly drawn up in order to then have to cancel events.

The latest examples are the end of the home guild's wine festival and the Brucker Kulturnacht.

Instead, there is another result: the idea of setting up an open-air event in the summer. Andreas Habersetzer, responsible for festivals and markets at the city, can well imagine that. “Whether it is on the initiative of the associations or whether the city offers something has yet to be found out.” One thing is clear: anyone who wants to offer something to the citizens can use Niederbronner Platz, Volksfestplatz or Geschwister-Scholl-Platz. So this year the magic gala and the Gaumenkitzel of the Brucker Netz at Niederbronnerplatz will experience a second edition.

The conversation will continue, says Jäger. “We will definitely pursue this further.” Klemenz also brings Fürstenfeld into play as the venue. With a view to the future, local cultural workers must also be established in the event forum. Time and the development of the coronavirus will tell if the open-air culture will work, says Jäger. "I don't want to stir up too high hopes and then cancel again."

She now wants to convene the round table regularly before the meetings of the culture and works committee. In this way, topics from the cultural sector can be brought in or applications can be submitted to the committee. In this way, cultural issues are also more present in the committee, adds Klemenz. “So far it has been more work than culture.” And some issues can also be resolved on a smaller level, as the search for rehearsal rooms has shown.
