India today (Wednesday) recorded a dismal milestone with more than 200,000 deaths from the corona virus, after a record of 3,293 deaths in the last day, alongside another world record in the number of daily infections - 362,757.

In total, more than 17.9 million people have been diagnosed as carriers of the virus.

In the United States alone, more people were infected with the virus, and in three other countries the death toll exceeded 200,000: the United States, Brazil and Mexico.

As in many other countries, experts believe that these data are missing.

India, home to about 1.4 billion people, is experiencing its most difficult episode since the outbreak of the plague, after a relatively moderate first wave.

The health care system is on the verge of collapse in the capital New Delhi, in other cities and also in rural areas, and many countries in the world have sent it aid and medical equipment.

In the past week, an average of more than 2,000 people have died every day.

The first known death from corona in India occurred on March 12 last year, in the southern state of Karnataka.

Five months later, the death toll reached 50,000.

Within two months, the number had doubled to 150,000 three months later, in January this year.

Mortality slowed until the middle of last month, then skyrocketed back sharply.

The highs in the number of hospitalized and dead suffocate the health care system and medical staff, collapsing from the load.

Patients suffocate to death after the hospitals' oxygen supply runs out.

Desperate family members are sending messages of help on social media in hopes that someone will help them locate oxygen balloons, empty hospital beds and life-saving medications for their loved ones.

The cremation sites leaked to public parks and parking lots due to lack of space.
