The determination of the needs for day care and short-term care places in the district has been expected in Herrsching since 2019 and is now finally available.

The senior and disability advisory council had already sounded the "alarm" in 2019, and 17 cross-party councils replied in March with a joint proposal to create day care places in Herrsching.

Herrsching

- Mayor Christian Schiller had invited Friedrich Büttner to the municipal council meeting on Monday. The head of the social affairs department in the district office explained the situation in the district and municipality. H Herrsching is one of four municipalities in the district that have not yet offered day or short-term care. Both senior and disability advisory councils had applied for improvements in 2019, because not only is the proportion of people over 80 in the Ammerseegemeinde large, but also the proportion of disabled citizens is by far the highest in the district at 11.88 percent. The trend is increasing for both areas. “You have to take this into account,” Büttner also found.

According to the care for Bavaria report published in February, 153.6 day care places are possible for the district. There are 103, others are being built in Gauting and Andechs. 20 will remain vacant afterwards. Herrsching could apply for it once the property and carrier have been found. Büttner made it clear that first served, first served. That means whose places would be funded first, who applied for them first. If the maximum number of 153 is reached, there is no more funding.

This was relevant as the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) had already expressed interest. As reported, the BRK intends to locate its rescue station in an area in the Herrsching industrial park. District managing director Jan Lang had already said when presenting the plans that day care places could also be set up there. And on Monday Büttner did not say too much that he was talking about 18 to 20 seats. "But that's in your hands via the land-use planning," he said to the local councils. Mayor Schiller knew that the BRK was currently negotiating with the property owner.

It was the question of whether the community wanted to set up additional places, Büttner asked when Christiane Gruber (BGH) interjected that other porters were also in the starting blocks, for example the Herrsching auxiliary service. With her, Alexander Keim (FDP) also pleaded for alternatives. This would be possible if the municipality left space for it on Mitterweg when it planned to create affordable housing. However, Schiller left no doubt that he would prefer the BRK solution. "We can count ourselves lucky, otherwise we would be missing 200 to 250 square meters of living space on Mitterweg." It would therefore be more cost-effective for the community to use the BRK, and one can also avoid a lengthy tendering process, which in the end is not sure which one Operator is awarded the contract.Anke Rasmussen (Greens) jumped aside Schiller when she reminded them that the BRK offer did not come as a surprise. There were already plans in Andechser Hof, and the building of day care places on Keramikstrasse was also touted, "what we didn't want there".

Christoph Welsch (Greens) was not happy with the now chosen location in the industrial park. “I have no problem with the BRK, only with the location.” The space is actually intended for something else, namely business. “There are areas that would be more suitable,” said Welsch, thinking of the Schindlbeck Clinic when it comes to merging a clinic with Seefeld. A prohibition in the industrial park is not legally possible, said Schiller.

In the end, Thomas Bader (CSU) set the pace: “We want to have day care as soon as possible, we shouldn't lose any time.” And this actually only works with the BRK and its plans in the industrial area. The signatories of the intergroup motion finally agreed to withdraw their motion for the time being and to have the plans of the CRPD presented in one of the next meetings.
