A fatal industrial accident occurred in Tsing Yi.

At about 2:08 am today (28th), a male crew member was reported to have suffered severe head injuries and was unconscious on a cargo ship anchored off Container Terminal No. 9 on Tsing Yi Hang Road.

The ambulancemen rushed to the report and immediately rushed the victim to Renji Hospital. However, he was dying and died after arriving at the hospital for emergency treatment.

According to sources, the cargo ship involved was anchored at the above site and was about to leave Hong Kong; the dead male crew member was of Myanmar nationality, 21 years old, holding a passport and crew card.

At the time of the incident, he was tying the container with ropes to secure it. During this period, the rope was suspected to be accidentally broken, and it loosened together with the iron hook and hit him on the head, causing tragedy.

The police classified the case as an "industrial accident" and will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death for the deceased later.
