The mayor of the municipality of Titiribí, Juan Guillermo Bolívar, died of causes associated with covid-19, reported this Tuesday the municipality located in the department of Antioquia, in the northwest of the country.
"A leader who played a crucial role in the life of our people, helped by his great charisma, his political intuition and above all by his unequivocal sense of social justice," they wrote in a statement.
The government of Antioquia expressed its "deep pain" on Twitter.

After Jhon Jairo Higuita, mayor of Urrao, Antioquia, and Miguel Ángel Gómez, of the municipality of Tarazá, this is at least the third mayor of that department to die from covid-19.
