"Saturday Fortune", a jewelry and gold store with about 3,600 branches, filed a lawsuit in the High Court yesterday (27th) against another company with a similar name for infringement.

"Saturday Fortune" requested that the other party be prohibited from continuing to infringe its trademarks and for compensation for "Saturday Fortune" losses.

"Saturday Fu" disclosed in the filing that a lawsuit was triggered due to the infringement of the defendant's company.

In addition, "Saturday Fortune" had hired Cai Shaofen as its spokesperson, and the defendant company also hired Cai as its spokesperson after the conclusion of the contract.

The plaintiffs are Saturday Fortune Jewelry Co., Ltd. and Hong Kong Saturday Fortune Jewelry International Group Co., Ltd., which were established in the Mainland and Hong Kong respectively; the defendant is Saturday Fortune Jewelry International Group Co., Ltd.

Alleged that the defendant had opened a shop in the Mainland under the name "Saturday Fu" and triggered a lawsuit

The complaint stated that the two plaintiff companies were established in 2004 and registered trademarks in both the Mainland and Hong Kong. There are currently about 3,600 branches in the Mainland.

The defendant was established in Hong Kong in 2008, and the sole director of the company was a mainland resident.

The plaintiff continued to point out that the defendant used the Chinese and English name "Saturday Fu" in order to impersonate the plaintiff.

The defendant opened a jewelry store in the Mainland under the name "Saturday Fortune", which triggered a lawsuit, and finally reached a settlement in 2013.

However, between November and December last year, the defendant approved more than 470 "Saturday Fortune" franchise stores, and the plaintiff resumed litigation in the Mainland.

Artist Cai Shaofen was the spokesperson for the plaintiff.
