Dachau - In the Dachau district, a total of 36 019 people had been vaccinated for the first time in the two vaccination centers by Monday, plus 8,225 vaccinations by resident doctors and the clinic.
According to the district office, the first vaccination rate is currently 28.6 percent.
Corona: Complete vaccination protection only after the second vaccination - "some new infections found in the vaccinated"
"Despite numerous second vaccinations in the coming weeks, the vaccination campaign in the district will continue vigorously," the district office continues. In addition to the vaccination centers in the district, numerous medical practices also offer vaccination appointments. The information on this - often including digital appointments - can be found on the websites of the respective medical practices.
However, the district office reminds all vaccinated citizens that "full vaccination protection only exists after the second vaccination and the respective vaccine-specific period of action - usually 14 days".
Although the initial vaccination of all vaccines already provides a high level of protection against serious disease progression, especially in the past few days, "some new infections have been found in people who have already been vaccinated".
Corona: Whether vaccination protection prevents virus transmission to third parties "not yet scientifically clarified"
According to the authority, it has not yet been scientifically clarified whether vaccination protection in the event of infection not only protects itself but also prevents the virus from being passed on to third parties. Therefore, there are no exemptions from the general test and mask requirements or contact restrictions for vaccinated people. In view of the current nationwide discussions on this, the District Office of Dachau is assuming a "change in the near future". One thing is already certain: people with full vaccination protection no longer have to be in quarantine as close contacts.
The situation in the Helios-Amper-Klinikum Dachau remains stable.
There are currently 22 corona patients between the ages of 18 and 88 in the normal ward;
the average age is 62.7 years.
There are currently five corona patients between the ages of 37 and 84 in the intensive care unit;
the average age is 69 years.
As already announced, both vaccination centers will once again offer open special vaccination campaigns with Astrazeneca: The Karlsfeld vaccination center will offer over 1000 vaccination appointments in Karlsfeld during the night from April 30th to May 1st, as well as a vaccination bus in Odelzhausen and Altomünster, and the Dachau vaccination center on Monday , May 3rd from 2pm to 8pm.
It should be noted that in the vaccination centers only citizens registered in the vaccination portal BayIMCO and assigned according to their place of residence can be vaccinated.
So far, 135 people from the Dachau district have died in connection with Corona.
