The Seeglas riverside area is a popular recreational and leisure area.

Because vandalism and alcohol bouts keep coming up, the community is now taking action with a set of rules.

It is valid from May 1st.

Gmund - Because the city of Tegernsee recently transferred sovereignty to Gmund, the municipality can now take action.

As announced, a lakeside system statute Seeglas (SAS) was on the table for the latest municipal council meeting in order to ensure the recreational and leisure character of the lake shore system.

With the statutes, Gmund now has a handle to take action against property damage, contamination and disturbances, which, according to the rationale, are primarily due to excessive alcohol consumption.

"We are not reinventing the wheel," said managing director Florian Ruml, who brought several departments on board for the design - from the Bad Wiessee police to the building yard to the security service - and sent him to other regulations, such as those of the cities of Munich or Hof the hall, has compared.

Rules for the Seeglas bank system: All of this is forbidden

The statutes apply in the area from the Mangfall estuary (including the local community meadows) to the sailing school. Damage (including to plants), contamination and failure to remove dog excrement, driving on or parking (except in preparation for approved events), cycling outside of the marked paths, tents, overnight stays and the setting up of camping equipment, tables, chairs and pavilions are prohibited , open fires and barbecues outside the barbecue areas provided, storage and sitting down for alcohol consumption (except for approved events and in the open bar area of restaurants during operating hours), reserving benches (e.g. by using towels or drying clothes), selling goods,Services and meals (except for approved celebrations) as well as holding meetings. Exceptions are possible in individual cases.

Anyone who violates decency and morals must expect to be banned from entering.

The statutes for the dog ban continue to apply, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. the night's sleep must not be disturbed by the use of instruments.

Those who break the rules either get away with a warning or face a fine of up to 2500 euros.

Statute for the Seeglas waterfront: Korbinian Kohler against too many bans

Mayor Alfons Besel (FWG) made it clear: "Anyone who behaves normally and socially adequately is not affected by these statutes." It is also still possible to drink an "after-work drink" on the lakeshore.

But when whole crates of beer were dragged in, it was clear what the purpose of a picnic was, Ruml explained.

The police, who clearly recommend the statutes, will look at what is happening with a sense of proportion.

Korbinian Kohler (CSU) was the only one against the statutes: "I think it's a bad signal when we prohibit and regulate too much." Most things are not allowed anyway.

Besel thought that one had to show limits.

Should the statutes not prove themselves, one could improve, "or they could also be bagged again".

Michael Huber (Greens) had to agree with Kohler.

He asked himself whether it would not make more sense to only mention what was already prohibited by law.

“The statutes stand and fall with the execution,” said Huber, who was in favor of it in the end because it made it easier to take action against rioters.

Florian Floßmann (FWG) was also in favor of strict procedures.

The community wants to think about Martina Ettstaller's (CSU) proposal to set up more barbecue areas.
