From May 1st, Sylt will open its doors to vacationers as part of a model project.

There is great interest - but what does the accommodation cost?

The district of North Friesland, together with the holiday island of Sylt, will be able to welcome holidaymakers again from May 1st.

This is the second model project to be launched in Schleswig-Holstein.

Before that, the Schlei region with Eckernförde opened to tourists and has since experienced a real influx of visitors.

It could be similar in North Friesland: The holiday home search engine HomeToGo recorded a high occupancy rate of the holiday homes for the period of the model project.

“For May we see an unavailability of around 62 percent on Sylt.

This means that around 62 percent of the offers on Sylt compared on HomeToGo in May are either booked or not approved for booking, ”reports Jonas Upmann from HomeToGo to the

editorial network Germany (RND)

.

Book a holiday in Sylt: What does the accommodation cost?

The prices for the accommodations in North Friesland vary depending on the municipality, size, permitted number of persons and equipment of the vacation home, as Jonas Upmann explains.

The

median price per night and lodging

was, according to the analysis (from 11 to 27 April) in early May with 212 euros the highest.

In the week of Ascension Day, the price would drop to 197 euros and then rise to 218 just before Pentecost.

At the end of the month, the cost is currently around 187 euros.

According to the analysis, the higher-priced municipalities include

Morsum

with a price range of 189 to 120 euros and

Wennigstedt-Braderup

with a price range of 164 to 136 euros.

Holidaymakers can currently find the cheapest accommodation in the communities of

Sylt, Rantum, Westerland and Hörnum

.

Here the prices fluctuate between 135 and 120 euros.

Jonas Upmann also points out, however, that the booking situation for holiday homes and apartments is very dynamic.

The range of available accommodations could change constantly - and with it the median price.

As always, it is worthwhile for holidaymakers to compare the prices here before booking.
