The Speaker of the People's Assembly, Hammouda Sabbagh, announced today that Ahmed Ghayath Muhammad Shafiq Sidawi, Tali` Saleh Nasser and Bashir Muhammad al-Balah had submitted three new applications for the position of President of the Republic, bringing the number of applications to 44.
The Speaker of the People's Assembly announced the opening of candidacy for the presidential elections, in implementation of the provisions of the constitution, as of Monday, April 19, and applications for candidacy will continue to be submitted to the Supreme Constitutional Court until the end of the official working hours from Wednesday April 28, 2021.
