Two people were killed last night (Tuesday to Wednesday) in a serious accident between a truck and three vehicles on Road 77, on the section of road between the Yishai interchange and Zarzir.
The two dead, men in their 30s, were trapped inside one of the vehicles.
MDA reported that another man, about 30 years old, who was traveling with them was rescued from the car in critical condition. MDA forces who were called to the scene provided medical treatment to 11 other people injured in the accident, who were moderately and lightly injured.
All were evacuated to Rambam, Carmel and Haemek hospitals.
MDA paramedic Baruch Avitan: "When we arrived at the scene, the sight was difficult.
We saw a truck in the left lane of the road and below its front was a crushed private vehicle with three passengers trapped in it.
We saw two other vehicles damaged in the accident.
We did a quick initial screening for the wounded and firefighters rescued the trapped from the vehicle.
Two of them were unconscious with serious injuries and within a short time we had to determine their deaths.
The third passenger was unconscious and suffered a multi-systemic injury.
"Five of the passengers in the other vehicles were conscious, including two children aged 7 and 4. We provided the wounded with life-saving medical care and evacuated them to the hospital when one was in a very serious condition and was anesthetized and respirated. The rest were in mild to moderate condition."
The police said that "Israeli police officers and road accident investigators arrived at the scene and began investigating the incident."
