Most of the food and consumer products in the As-Suwayda markets witnessed a relative decrease in prices compared to the beginning of this month.

Intissar Al-Hajli encourages buying from the city hall because its prices are lower than the market. It has also noticed an acceptable decrease in prices for most vegetables and fruits compared to last month, calling for more tightening of the supply control on the markets.

The accountant in the city hall, Salem Al-Aqil mentioned that there is a decrease in the prices of most vegetables and fruits compared to the beginning of this month, as the price of a kilogram of potatoes decreased from 800 to 600 pounds, tomatoes from 800 to 500, beans from 800 to 500, cucumbers from 2000 to 800, and lemons from 1500 to 1000. Oranges decreased from 1,800 to 1,000 pounds, confirming the Syrian Trade’s endeavor to provide the best products at the lowest prices.

In a dairy and cheese shop, Suleiman Abu Khair indicated that he had noticed a "small" decrease in the prices of these products and a greater price of vegetables and fruits, which was the response of the owner of the dairy and cheese shop, Tariq Abu Bakr, to the high price of fodder linked to the differences on the exchange rate.

Salem Nassar pointed out that most food and consumer goods have witnessed a remarkable decline during the past days, with rates of up to 30 percent for some materials, which was confirmed by Engineer Ayman Khudair, owner of a food and consumer goods store, indicating that the prices of sugar, ghee and oil decreased by rates ranging between 30 and 35 percent and detergents between 25 And 30 percent.
