The director of Al-Qatifah National Hospital in Damascus countryside, Dr. Hussein Ajaj, confirmed that the curve of Corona injuries that the hospital retreated has gradually flattened and stabilized after the increase that it witnessed during the last period.

Last year, Al-Qatifah Hospital allocated a unit to receive suspected and confirmed cases of Coronavirus, accommodating 28 beds, in addition to 5 intensive care beds, and has so far received 576 Corona patients.

According to its director, the hospital provides medical services, (oxygen) and medicines to Corona patients through a health cadre that includes specialists, residents, nurses and technicians up to 128 people, indicating that there is an oxygen station and more than 100 spare cylinders in the hospital.

Ajaj pointed out that the hospital conducts laboratory and radiological investigations for all patients with suspected symptoms, indicating that according to the protocol of the Ministry of Health, treatment and medical advice on home quarantine are given for mild cases, and moderate and severe cases are accepted according to the family vacancies and in coordination with the emergency room in the Ministry of Health.

According to Dr. Ajaj, the hospital continues to provide its regular medical services to the patients of the emergency departments and outpatient clinics, as well as conducting surgical operations with the application of protection measures for medical personnel.

Ajaj reiterated the need to adhere to individual prevention measures from wearing a mask, spatial distancing, frequent washing of hands, and applying home quarantine in the event of suspected symptoms and seeing a doctor.
