A 72-year-old man was sent back on Wednesday to the Dole Criminal Court (Jura) for acts of “
willful violence with weapons and racist insults

At the end of his
police
custody, which began on Monday, the defendant, "
unknown to the police
", was placed under judicial supervision with a ban on appearing near the home of his victim and a ban on driving a vehicle. , said in a statement Lionel Pascal, public prosecutor of Lons-Le-Saunier.
The trial will be held on May 28.

On April 21, the septuagenarian took photos near a family's home.
The parents, "
suspecting that the elderly man could be taking photographs of their home, even of their children

A verbal and then physical altercation ensued, during which the septuagenarian threatened the father of the family with a cross key taken in his car, and had uttered racist insults against his interlocutor, calling him "

", while the mother filmed the scene.

Got back in his car, the septuagenarian had moved away before turning around and coming back to the father of the family who was on the sidewalk. In order to avoid a shock, he had jumped on the hood of the vehicle, which had finished its race by tearing the fence of the home of his victim. Aged 41, the father underwent a forensic examination and was issued with a 30-day incapacity for work.
In police custody, the 72-year-old man denied having photographed the victim's home or children, which was confirmed by the analysis of his camera, according to the prosecution. He said he suffered from "
hearing difficulties
" and did not understand the object of the discontent of the man and his wife. He claimed to have been the victim of violence himself. He also explained that he wanted to frighten his interlocutor with his vehicle, and "
to have hit him without wanting to

".
