It was not an accident but a deliberate act that could qualify as attempted murder by the courts.
It is in any case on this qualification that the investigation was opened by the police after the driver of a scooter and his passenger were deliberately struck by a car which fled in Sarcelles on Tuesday evening.
The facts took place in rue Emile-Zola around 8:30 p.m.
Alerted, the emergency services found on their arrival on the spot the two victims lying on the ground, conscious, but seriously injured.
The two men, who are 33 and 35, have multiple fractures.
They were taken care of by the firefighters who provided them with first aid on the spot.
The driver fled
The two men, who are from the department of Seine-Saint-Denis, were then transported in absolute urgency to the Beaujon hospital, in Clichy, in the Hauts-de-Seine.
As for the vehicle involved in the accident, a Peugeot 307, it was no longer there when the emergency services and police officers arrived at the scene.
Its driver and three passengers who fled.
According to the first elements of the investigation of the police officers of Sarcelles, the accidental track can be ruled out.
The motorist intentionally struck the scooter.

Threats with a machete

After the fall of the two victims, the occupants of the 307 stopped and got out of the car.
Equipped for one of them with a machete, they threatened the two seriously injured victims on the ground, and gassed them before setting off.
The police officers of the departmental security of Val-d'Oise were seized of the investigation.
They could not yet hear the two injured who were hospitalized.
The Peugeot 307 was however found this Wednesday afternoon.
The vehicle had been abandoned in Gonesse and was scrutinized by investigators from the technical and scientific police.
