A 31-year-old Malian is suspected of having multiplied malicious calls to women, in front of whom he exhibited himself via the application

The stratagem was well established and it allowed its author to increase sexual assault and rape, while enriching himself on the backs of his victims.

A 31-year-old Malian, who presents himself as a marabout, should soon be indicted for aggravated rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, scams and threats.

When he was identified by investigators from the La Courneuve police station, the man was already in prison for other acts of rape.

He had been arrested some time before by police officers from the Montreuil police station (Seine-Saint-Denis).

The investigation begins in October 2020, when one of his victims decides to file a complaint.

She explains that since March, she has been receiving malicious video calls via the WhatsApp application.

His interlocutor sends him licentious insults and shows his penis in front of the camera of his phone.

The police went up the thread of the numbers used, which he changed regularly.

The investigators contacted each recipient of these calls and noted that they were exclusively women.

About fifty of them are summoned to the police station to be heard.

Thirty-nine claim to be victims of this malicious interlocutor, whose face they identify on a photographic plate.

The suspect, already jailed for rape, claims to be the victim of a conspiracy

Among them, several say they were sexually assaulted by him.

Six women filed a complaint for twelve rapes.

Figures that could be underestimated given the fear of some victims of taking legal action, said a source familiar with the matter.

This man, who presents himself as a marabout, also used this status to put pressure on the women he contacted.

And demanded money from them in order to ward off evil spirits.

The most credulous paid.

In total, their attacker extorted loot estimated at 120,000 euros.

The police encountered great difficulty in identifying the thirty-something, who was domiciled in a home in Montreuil. They were finally able to question him on April 19, after his arrest by officers from the local police station. Extracted from the prison where he was imprisoned, the marabout denied the facts, believing to be the victim of a conspiracy. He returned to his cell pending his future indictment.
