Spending 192 million on solid waste projects in Homs

Eng. Amin Al-Issa, Director of Services in Homs, revealed that 300 million pounds were spent on projects implemented by the various departments of the Directorate during the first quarter of this year out of its total investment budget for the year 2021 amounting to 4.7 billion pounds.

Al-Issa indicated in a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin that the solid waste projects acquired the highest percentage, at an amount of 192 million pounds, which included the implementation of works in the project of the Homs transfer station, the operation of the Deir Baalba landfill, the implementation of waste transfer stations in Hodeidah, the Kurds of Dasniyeh, Sadad, Tal Kalakh, Hassia, Tarin and Homs, in addition to the follow-up of projects. Operating the central landfill in the workers suburb and Umm al-Amad.

On road projects, Al-Issa pointed out that the Roads Department of the Technical Services Directorate is currently pursuing rehabilitation work and establishing a number of local roads, including the Pink Trap Road, the Elf Forest Surface, with a value of 117 million pounds, and the construction of roads in Tal Amri Ain Al-Nisr, a first phase with a value of 24 million pounds, and the Al-Haythamiya trap road with a value of 99 One million pounds and a project of paving and asphalting the road of Fahl Al-Numailiya, Dahr Al-Qusayr, with a value of 76 million pounds, and in the field of work of the Sanitation Department and school buildings.

Engineer Osama Idris, head of the department, explained that during the first quarter of this year, about 86 million pounds were spent on school building projects, as an additional floor extension is currently being built in Saeed Hammoud High School in Hassia and six classrooms were built in Jabab Al-Zait School, while a sanitation project was announced.
